A contract has been secured between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Ministry of Defence for the procurement of 12 Su-30 MKI aircraft, valued at approximately ₹13,500 Cr, inclusive of taxes and duties.

This deal is a key element of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, emphasizing the push for indigenous manufacturing, with the aircraft featuring 62.6% indigenized content.

Production will occur at HAL’s Nasik division.

This procurement aims to bolster the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force, enhancing overall national defense preparedness.
