Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) reported significant environmental performance improvements for FY25, including reduced energy and water consumption, and lower Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions.

Key initiatives like producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel and extensive RLNG utilization drove emission cuts.

The company maintained a strong zero-incident safety record.

However, CPCL faces environmental compensation levies totalling ₹73.68 Cr and ₹6.24 Cr for past oil spill incidents, with initial deposits/guarantees of ₹19.12 Cr and ₹3.12 Cr made, respectively.

An additional ₹5 Cr no-fault liability was also paid.
