Niva Bupa Health Insurance delivered a robust Q1’FY27. Gross Written Premium (GWP) surged 31.7% year-over-year to ₹2,150 Cr, while Profit After Tax (PAT) nearly doubled, growing 92.9% YoY to ₹137.8 Cr.
The vital Retail Health segment saw GWP soar 47.1% YoY to ₹1,607.1 Cr, increasing market share to 11.1%. Operational efficiency improved as the Combined Insurance Service Ratio came in at 100.2%, down from 103.2%. The company's strategy hinges on building a profitable health insurance franchise through diversified distribution channels, a strong emphasis on digital sales, and disciplined underwriting.
Recent advancements include expanding its Preferred Partner Network to 1,133 hospitals and achieving 38.4% cashless claims auto-adjudication.
Customer satisfaction remains a priority, reflected in a weighted Episodal NPS of 62. Management highlighted the overall strong growth in the health insurance sector and sees the shift to Ind AS as a key step towards greater financial transparency.
