Law enforcement has issued a directive for all mobile phone businesses, including dealers, repair centers, and second-hand shops.

They must now mandatorily verify IMEI numbers on a national portal, register phone numbers, collect buyer/seller identification, and maintain transaction records for all second-hand mobile transactions.

Non-compliance is illegal and could lead to severe penalties, including fines up to 0.01 Cr and imprisonment, impacting operations and financial stability for businesses in this sector.
